Liner Notes — Album Discovery

I built a Spotify-connected app that recommends five albums from distinct artists based on listening habits. As a vinyl collector, I've always found the liner notes of records to be extremely fascinating -- a glimpse into the creative process, background, and inspiration of the album as a whole. This inspired the name of my project, as a nod to the discovery and curiosity that came along with being an admirer and collector of music.

Using React, Python, and FastAPI, I developed and carefully refined a recommendation pipeline that balances familiarity with discovery, filtered out irrelevant results (extremely familiar albums, duplicate editions), and lets listeners open recommendations directly in Spotify.
